Biography

Alistair Deane was born and educated in Edinburgh.

After leaving school he attended college where he trained as a printer and typographer.  After working for a short time in one of Scotland's leading advertising agencies he moved to London to work as a graphic designer.

For over forty years he ran his own design and print consultancy. He designed leaflets, brochures and annual reports for organisations as diverse as trade associations, government departments, hotel groups, retail outlets as well as supporting local charities. Among the logos he created include the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Indusrty (ABPI) The British Coatings Federation (BCF), the Princess Alice Hospice, Kidney Research UK, YHA Adventure Shops and St George's Hill Golf Club.

Alistair worked closely with some of the countries' leading artists and illustrators as well as directing many photographic shoots.

Gradually Alistair has been creating his own painting style. He gratefully appreciates the influence and encouragement given to him by Surrey artist Chris Forsey.
